If you are a CA aspirant who has cleared the CA Intermediate exam and completed the practical training, you must be eagerly waiting for the CA Final exam, which is the last stage of becoming a Chartered Accountant. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) conducts the CA Final exam twice a year, in May and November. The CA Final exam for May 2023 session will be held from May 2 to May 17, 2023. What is CA Final Exam?
CA Final exam is the third and final level of the Chartered Accountancy course offered by ICAI. It consists of two groups, each having four papers. The candidates have to pass both the groups either together or separately to become eligible for the membership of ICAI. The candidates also have to complete a minimum of two years and six months of practical training under a practicing Chartered Accountant before appearing for the CA Final exam.

CA Final Exam Pattern and Syllabus 2023
The CA Final exam pattern and syllabus 2023 are based on the revised scheme of education and training implemented by ICAI from July 2017. The exam pattern and syllabus are as follows:
The exam duration for each paper is three hours.
The exam is conducted in English or Hindi medium, except for Paper 4 (Corporate and Economic Laws) and Paper 6 (Elective Paper), which are conducted only in English medium.
The exam is of descriptive type, except for Paper 6 (Elective Paper), which may have objective type questions as well.
The maximum marks for each paper are 100, except for Paper 6 (Elective Paper), which has 50 marks for objective type questions and 50 marks for descriptive type questions.
The passing marks for each paper are 40, and the passing marks for each group are 200.
The candidates have to choose one out of six options for Paper 6 (Elective Paper), which are:

Paper 6B: Financial Services and Capital Markets
Paper 6C: International Taxation
Paper 6D: Economic Laws
Paper 6E: Global Financial Reporting Standards
Paper 6F: Multidisciplinary Case Study
